Frequently Asked Questions — Strategic Cargo Transit

A transit permit (in Polish: zezwolenie tranzytowe) authorises the movement of strategic or dual-use goods through a country's territory. In Poland it is issued by the Ministry of Development and Technology (MRiT). Without it, strategic cargo cannot legally cross the border.
The turnaround depends on the goods and the route, but permits are usually issued within 30 days of a complete application. More complex cases can take longer, which is why we recommend starting the process early.
WSK (Wewnętrzny System Kontroli — Internal Control System) is the certification required to legally handle strategic and dual-use goods. Air & Road Service is WSK-certified, which is why we can apply for permits and move controlled cargo — a capability most carriers do not have.
Explosives and ammunition (ADR Class 1), firearms and weapon systems, military optics and sights, pyrotechnics, dual-use electronics and drones (UAVs), and dual-use chemicals — all under the appropriate strategic-trade controls.
No. Poland is our home jurisdiction and where we hold WSK certification, but we coordinate multi-country transit — for example Canada → Poland → Ukraine or Turkey → Bulgaria → Romania — across the EU and beyond, wherever a strategic-goods permit is required.
Contact us with the origin, destination and a description of the goods. We will confirm which permits the route requires, prepare the MRiT application and handle the transport end to end.
